Top prospect Montero traded to the Mariners

Catcher Jesus Montero found himself the New York Yankees’ top prospect for 2012 one day, and then woke up the following day as a Seattle Mariner. It’s enough to boggle the mind.

But the Yanks seemed deep in catchers, and wanted to make a trade, so there you have it.

Seattle sent righty Michael Pineda and Minor League pitcher Jose Campos to the Yankees in exchange for Montero.
