I first photographed him at Spring Training in 2009 (above), when he looked to be about 16 years old. Actually, I think he was 17 at the time.

The Chicago Cubs have recalled former Greenville Braves catcher J.C. Boscan from Triple-A Iowa as a backup catcher.

I can’t think of anybody I’d rather see make the majors and stay there than J.C. He has paid plenty of dues. I’ve photographed him with the Greenville Braves, Mississippi Braves and Atlanta, and he’s had just a cup of coffee in the big leagues so far in his career.

This one of my favorite shots of Adam Wainwright from 10 years ago, mainly because it’s something you don’t see very often. I’m not sure I’d be allowed inside to shoot anything like this today.

In recognition of Freddie Freeman making the All-Star Team, here’s a look back at my favorite Freddie photo, from Class A in 2009. Oh, and that’s Jason Heyward sitting next to him, by the way. #VoteFreddie
