Watching Julio Teheran and Christian Bethancourt on TV last night walking in from the bullpen before their first Major League start as battery mates reminded me of this photo that I took in 2010.

Baseball America has named RHP Lucas Sims as the Atlanta Braves’ top prospect for 2014.

Braves catching prospect Christian Bethancourt has been called up to Atlanta for September. It doesn’t seem like very long ago that he was in Greenville (above) catching Julio Teheran, who is now in the Atlanta rotation.

I first photographed him at Spring Training in 2009 (above), when he looked to be about 16 years old. Actually, I think he was 17 at the time.

The Chicago Cubs have recalled former Greenville Braves catcher J.C. Boscan from Triple-A Iowa as a backup catcher.
I can’t think of anybody I’d rather see make the majors and stay there than J.C. He has paid plenty of dues. I’ve photographed him with the Greenville Braves, Mississippi Braves and Atlanta, and he’s had just a cup of coffee in the big leagues so far in his career.

This one of my favorite shots of Adam Wainwright from 10 years ago, mainly because it’s something you don’t see very often. I’m not sure I’d be allowed inside to shoot anything like this today.
