Three Lexington players in their dugout

Lexington Legends vs Greenville Drive

Ramon Torres, Raul Mondesi and Miguel Almonte of the Lexington Legends ask to have their photo taken in the dugout before in a game against the Greenville Drive on Friday, August 16, 2013, at Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville, South Carolina. (Tom Priddy/Four Seam Images)

Friday was a rare day for me at the ballpark. I had a request from my agency to take a posed shot of a first-round-draft player — which I did — and then I had a request from three players to take their photo in the dugout.

It’s a rare day when I shoot anything posed. I can count those days in the single digits.

But when the players ask, I rarely decline. Then the question comes: “Where can we see the photo?”

I gave the URL to my website; I hope they find it okay.

Photo of the Day: Hinze is player of the week

I’m a tad late with this one, but Kody Hinze is the South Atlantic League Offensive Player of the Week for May 16. I photographed him just last month in Greenville.
MiLB.com says: “Astros prospect Kody Hinze, who played in 27 games with the Legends last year, is looking much sharper than the .175 average he managed during that stretch. His eighth-inning, two-run homer gave Lexington a 2-1 win against visiting Greensboro on Monday, and the team didn’t lose again until Hinze came up empty, going 0-for-3, on Saturday. From Wednesday to Friday, though, he was 8-for-12 with a homer, a pair of doubles, seven RBIs and four runs scored. He singled and struck out three times in Sunday’s loss to Greenville.”

Funny thing I just noticed about some of the photos I’ve posted recently: all the photos that looked like outs were not, and the one that looked like a hit was an out.
Same thing could be said about this photo. It appears that Jorge De Leon has a bead on this grounder — which he does — but he eventually bobbled it.
I know — big deal. Just an excuse to post this photo.
