Pirates prospect Evan Chambers dies at 24

Pittsburgh Pirates minor league prospect Evan Chambers died in his sleep over the weekend. He was 24. The Sporting News reports that the cause of death is unknown at this time.

As a Minor Leaguer he played for the West Virginia Power against the Greenville Drive at Fluor Field in 2010.

Castro has been selected to play for the Northern Division in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game this Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J.

Stetson Allie of the West Virginia Power is the Position Player of the Week in the South Atlantic League for the week ending May 26.
